Bear with.
So, dystopian literature is one of those things that I absolutely adore and am so happy that has become popular! When written right - it has the power to really make you think (again, I refer you to George Romero movies)
So, for this, my list has to be 15 books long (I am a Contagion):
(Also, I apologize for repeats - it happens?)
- Cronin, Justin - The Passage
- Meyer, Stephanie - The Host
- Ryan, Carrie - The Dead Tossed Waves
- Ryan, Carrie - The Dark and Hollow Places
- Pfeffer, Susan Beth - Life as We Know It
- Pfeffer, Susan Beth -The World We Live In
- Pfeffer, Susan Beth -The Dead & The Gone
- Atwood, Margaret - After the Flood
- Atwood, Margaret - Oryx & Crate
- Collins, Suzanne - Mockingjay
- Condie, Ally - Matched
- DeStefano, Lauren - Wither
- McCafferety, Megan - Bumped
- Dick, Phillip K - Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep?
- Westefield, Scott - Specials
Any more recommendations?
I highly recommend A Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. If you haven't read it yet, then it definitely needs to be added to your list.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I read that (And 1984, Animal Farm, The Handmaid's Tale ...) all in high school - that's where I began this insane love of Dystopia! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation!
